Design and development of complex databases to support business applications in web-based environment. Provide design of database schemas, data access, database management programs including data conditioning and decision-support systems, desktop database publishing and other database applications. Develop supporting applications and process documentation for client and internal applications conforming to Basenine's design methodology. Automate and deploy databases in production environment. Design and development of stored procedures, triggers, processes, and functions. Optimization of queries, database performance tuning, backups, replication, and capacity management are also key responsibilities. Perform necessary analysis, including complete development of funtional specifications; provide time/cost quotations on complex database development work. Ensure existing databases consistently perform as specified, within quality standards, within budget and per schedule. Manage vendors as necessary, develop vendor SLA and measure compliance. Direct assigned technical staff and contractors, evaluate staff/contractor performance on a per-project basis

The position requires a college degree and minimum of 2 years technical programming education and minimum of 10 years experience programming in relational databases including at least five years of MS SQL experience. Expert proficiency with at least one other RDBMS. Minimum of 10 years architectural details of assigned applications, very strong problem solving/analytical abilities. Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and listening. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
